9/25-27/8 with O.Hinds

9/25/8 .... Thursday... Beckey and I watched Mark's 7th grade team lose to Highland(near Hardy) 16-16. Mark was mad at himself for missing a tackle. He blocked a pass which would have been an extra 2 pt. conversion. Derrick is in Dallas for Army maneuvers...

9/26/8 ..... Friday ... I took the '90 Ranger over to Brian's to put on a tire for me. I walked across the street and took a few photos of the Pep Rally. Trumann later won 35-34 over Gosnell!

9/27/8 ..... Saturday ... The Wild Duck Festival out near the Pecan Grove today. Beckey and I enjoyed the music of Kenny/Rhonda Trigg. Margaritaville and California Sun were two of their best(Love Potion # 9 was good as well). Luis and I trouble shot Beckey's Crown Vic. It is an electric short in the #5 fuse link as well as the AC fuse(which also powers the doorlocks/interior dome..
Beckey and I went to visitation for Aldean Gentry Morrison(Edgar's wife). Here is her obit that was in the Jonesboro paper today: "Jessica Aldean MorrisonBAY — Jessica Aldean Morrison, 84, of Bay died Friday morning, Sept. 26, at her son’s home at Jonesboro. She was born at Baldwyn, Miss., on Feb. 4, 1924, to the late Ira and Mae Gentry, and lived most her life in Bay.She was a graduate of Bay High School and Arkansas State College and spent 38 years in elementary classrooms, 33 of which were in Bay Public Schools. 1. Unloaded load of limbs at the Grove. Beckey came to T-town and we took her 2000 Crown Vic to Brian M.'s station for an oil change. I had the 5 quarts(took six) for her engine(a bit larger than I thought). We ate at the Chinese Pizza Inn on the south end of T-town. $2 tip and &11.88 was the damage...ha! Donna (one of the owners) is working only a couple of days a week. She has one in school. Neil is her husband.. they also are part owners of The Mongolian Grill in Jonesboro. I drove the '91 Nissan today since it was loaded with limbs. I will have a large fire before long to ashify the fallen timber. 1. Beckey has a new printer(Lexmark X3430) in tonight. I worked on the huge limb pile at the Grove. Used a chain saw to stack the pyre properly for the fire. That fried pork didn't agree with me... some folks have food that talks back to them..ha! I really like the Red Ranger. I got up and cut up the huge pine that was on the fence between Pauline C. and us. When I returned to Bay, I finished the cutting up of the limbs and pruned the front trees that make up the border between. 103/105 Terra.Visited with George Ford, Junior L., Luis M., Luis likes the ranger as well... Jr. needs to fence planks..... Wrestling.. I was disappointed that HBK/Batista lost to Chris Jericho, JBL and another guffus... O.H

  1. Took truck by and Brian M. aired up my spare... no charge. When he gets a new shifter, he will try it to see if it reduces the sound of the transmission from 2to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. Worked at the grove. Carried inumerous limbs, set a fire... mostly leaves burned. Dropped by Beth/Jim's and he 1st/2nd degree burns Sat. after they had let me out. He used gas to start a fire. Beth said she saw a blue blast that blew him into a tree. Anyway he is recuperating. I bought a Jayco Trailer para un ciento/veinte cinco dolares. I worked the rest of the evening glueing new material and waterproofing. I hope to sell it to one of the Duck Festival people. The red Ranger is really doing well!
  2. We received this letter from John Boija from Taby, Sweden today: "Oliver & Becky, just a short note to let you know that your openhearted generosity, splendid hospitality and kindness impressed both me and Carina and we so much enjoyed our stay with you. Trumann is a place that will always have a fond place in our memories and our hearts.I personally enjoyed the visit to such an extent, that I already crave for more so I wouldn't be surprised if we were to meet again in a not too distant future. If you would ever feel like seeing a bit of the 'old world', rest assured that the doors will always remain open for you here and that I'd be happy to return some of your kind gestures. All the best /JohnPlease visit http://www.boija.com" Have a great day... 1. 9/20/8 ... Quite a day! I had left the car on a Friday for Brian M. to fix. He was so busy and today was no different. There must be only one place(perhaps 2) to fix flats! Anyway Brian called and he had taken out the old and put in the different transmission. I paid him cinco veintes y cincuenta con un cheque par su labor. I drove home in the '90Red Ranger and Beck followed in the '04 TransAm. I really felt good when Brian told me the truck was worth at least quinentos dolares! I may keep it and sell the Nissan.
  2. 9/21/8 ... Up early and took the Pontiac to St. Elizabeths. Vivian was already dressed and we walked to her breakfast room where Evelyn and Ms. Wagster were already there. We sang "No not One" and "When we all.... " and I played a couple of tunes on the harp. I met Wanda Martin from Harrisburg. She Knew Daisy Harris and Gertie Mills Skaggs! I also met Fred Gambill, a life-long Jonesborite. ... hugged several... Mildred F., Nellie V., Opal Hogue and played the harp while Lady Lee kept rhythm with my right hand and arm! She was really twisting to the beat in her wheel chair! Tammy, a nurse, says that this exhibition really makes her day! Skillcare... I can just picture you out in your Slicker and Sou' wester hat hunting for Agatesandshells ...just you, your bike and dog! Your mother really was wise to go the way that you should go and you started at age 10 or so in close-up photos! I have always shot close ... I was always to short to stand in the periphery of several taller brothers...ha! I treasure some of your past letters. Have visited your new site and recall some images from the past that you have shared! Yes, Nova Scotia will always be the place that answered my need for 'newness in a world that had grown a bit too familiar! I will continue to visit your site. That first picture(on your site) took a while to load, but worth it... I save the site to favorites... have a great week!!! Oliver

    Sure, Oliver,

Exactly the same man! Staying home, mostly, these days, with Junior holding the reigns.

I caught him on Channel 83, this morning. Same as channel 5, except better quality, if you have a TV you can fake as though it has cable. Don't know what cable channel he is on. He used to be on NBC (8), in these parts, but not lately.

Hope you are having a fine Sunday. We are never too sure what's going on down your way. A little rain here, during the night, but just cloudy, today. Old "Sol," trying to burn his way through, but I doubt he'll make it, this week, heh!

As it happens, the home of my new Domain is in Nova Scotia. Thought you would like to know that. Don't know what city. The only person there, I have talked with is a man named Dirwin, who is one of the key people at "Register.com," where I am registered. I have high hopes for this new domain and website, as I need it for my affiliate programs. A "Port in a Storm," for Photography Enthusiasts, too.

Hope your Pecans and Menagerie have survived the storms!
Glad to hear back, from you, always!
    Have a fine Autumn!
    Jake & Jack
outwrite@verizon.net..... I will save this address since John is the closest thing to a genius on photography and so many other areas of interest!!! I am at home writing on this blog! Talked with Junior, gave books to Anna, Ashley ... Have a great new week, readers!!!! O.Hinds

9/19/8 with O.Hinds

  1. Beckey worked on a dress today. She is quite a seamtress. Oh, she says she answers my phone calls a lot as well..ha(that goes both ways). I had breakfast with George F. Ann E. is a good cook. The medicine procedure has changed and residents have to go to the end of the room to get their medicines from Sara. It is better this way, since Sara can check and see each one take their medicine! George has a great appetite. I fixed him and a few others coffees and took a few of the residents water. I spoke with Etta, Danny, Marie, Maggie, Betty H., Jackie A. Ruby passed away last week and Nolan Raper (who previously lived at P.Homes died over at the old Melody Nursing Home). Some of the folks may remember Nolan as the guy in the electric scooter and the flag that zoomed all over Trumann. He was also Mazine Qualls' brother. I still have his picture next to a skinned bobcat up at Plantation Homes. I dropped by and checked on the '90 Red Ranger. Brian M. called about 7ish and Beckey took me in the TransAm to the Grove to pay him and pick up the truck. He told me that he would get me an improved shifter from his dad and install it. But the truck did well on the return trip to Bay. I may sell the '91 Nissan and keep the '90 Ranger.

Well, church tomorrow and a chance to see many of the nursing home residents who were out at the NEA Fair Thursday. Have a great Sunday tomorrow!! O.Hinds

9/18-19/8 with O.Hinds

9-18-8 .. Bought '90 Ranger from Mary F. It has a bad transmission. James R. and I drove to Paragould and five 20s put a transmission in the back of my '91 Nissan. Dallas G. is a good man to know on parts. Mr. J.W.G. is a very knowledgable old man at 1501 Kings Highway. Home and put trans in the back of the Ranger. Beck and I went to Western Sizzlin' and met Bufe ,Viv and his Becky. We had a fantastic dinner from the buffet. Beckey and I went to the NEA Fair. Met so many folks! It was Senior Day and a lot of my friends from St. Elizabeth, Skillcare, Jonesboro Homecare and Craighead Nursing homes were there. Even Trumann had some attendees. Well, you save the admission of $5. Beck had to pay... ha! She bought her 30 pounds of par-boiled rice for $15 this year. It was 1/2 that last year. I met Ray Kidd, Bill Berry, Leon Trotter, J.R, Ms. Bradbury (Gene's mother) and many others. I played the harp blues style for a few of my friends and neighbors. I bought a couple of tickets for raffles. I pulled the 70 lb pul compound bow. The exhibitor was impressed.. said I must have been lifting weights... (generally just my own..ha). We went to see Mark Hinds(Derrick/Marianne's son & my grandson) play ball. They won the game 12-8! Mark made two unassited tackles and a few assisted ones. I brought a six-ft heavy metal pipe home to help in bringing the '90 Ranger to its reparation point in T-town.
9-19-8 I couldn't sleep... at last I had Beck to take the weights off of Grandmother( the new clock I had traded for...ha). I think I had been awake all night for all the hour and half hour ' dongs! Got up early and prepared the Ranger for the chain/pipe assist to Trumann. I picked up James R. and he steered the R and "braked" for the both of us! Over to Bryan M's. (the gargage owner) without incident. I took James back home and gave him a fin for his effort. He retorted that I needn't give him $ for things like helping since we are friends.. but I insisted. Back to Bryan's and read from the Shady Grove Scrapbook that the Woolbright's have assembled(it belongs to Crissy Whittaker). I returned it later in the day to KFC where C.W. works. Bryan and I got the Ranger to start and he said, definitely that it was the transmission. I went to Campbell Sr. Center and ate dinner. Saw Ronnie, Jewel, Vera, Odell, Ray, Henry, and several others. I worked about the Pecan Grove. I went over to Bryan's and he told me that he would have the truck ready tomorrow. It will be around $150. ..not so bad for a truck that will be worth about $1,400. I think, if if proves out, I may start driving it as my daily truck and sell the Nissan. It has been a great truck! .. visited with Erma/Junior L..

  1. Monday-- Had breakfast with 'ol George F(99). I bought him briefs, T-shirts and a bag of oranges. He was glad. He reminds me of Joe Hinds. What an orchard full of fallen limbs! I returned Bobby H.'s chain saw. I hadn't completely opened the choke! I found my Poulan (formerly H.'s) It has a problem with the return tube (broken in several places).
  2. Tuesday... Got through my morning and Beckey and I headed for W.Memphis to Michelle/Barry's on Oakdale. I sprang for the the supper and brought in three whole Wal-Mart baked chickens! I thought I would share these photos of my sister, Maxine Haun's, restored Thunderbirds! They are for sale, but I will not quote the price here. They are immaculate!

  1. We have had some terrible wind early this morning. It is still blowing and raining at 6am. Later we found there was a Trumann person killed when a tree fell on a house. At St. Elizabeth Place there were emergency radios announcing the weather... there were tornado watches. All the residents were on each side of the halls... those already in the dining halls were brought back to the halls. I sang and played, just quitely with some of my friends. Vivian and I walked down to her room. Left her some Watkins Petro-Carbo salve. I visited with Velma, Lorie, Nellie V., Robert Burns, Mr. Patty, Mildred F.,

  2. Skillcare... Vera King, Elsie Jean, Wamon/Eula Mae Perkins, William Carey, W. Griffith, Tim Hamilton, Dixie, Ken B., and Gertie Mills Skaggs

  3. Craighead Nursing Home... Leona/Lorene/Dorothy C./Eugene B. I talked with S.Bankston & Jewel Benson(Joe and Reba's daughter)just in front of the Finch cage.

  4. Jonesboro home care... Dacus', Jimmy, Marvin/Eugene, Ed Watson, Charley & Paul. I play " name that tune" with most all of them. Ed showed me a current photo of George/Peggy & himself. I left him looking at the photo of him and Bess.

  5. Class at SW.. Buddy Powell is retiring in Feb.09 . He has worked decades with Acme Brick . Talked with Norman R., Mike C, Charlie,Carol & Bethany B., Mike Leatherwood was our teacher on Obadiah (follower of Yahweh). Maxine and I sat together and Jimmy Adcox explained 40 days of Community Work. Mc and I ate at KFC... had the double scoop meat burrito grilled... not bad. Maxine related a conversation that she and Ferrell had this week. I told her that he and I speak nearly every day. Home to Beck and brought her un burrito tambien. Took un poco siesta. Me levante and went to Trumann... lots of large limbs down! I used a chain and pulled a lot of the limbs out of the way of the drive and my serpentine paths about the grove. Talked with Jr. L. for quite awhile. He was gone for 5 weeks visiting his sister Rae Dean and family in St. Louis. The wind had blown down one of his fence's panels. He and Luis put it back up in place. I have been reading Mayor/teacher blogspot. Mr. Paul leads a rather strenous schedule. I sent John B. an e-mail advising him of a couple places of interest in Chicago, Il....

This picture was taken in front of Oliver/Beckey's home at 103 Terra, Bay, AR. You can see Oliver in the window;as well as the American Flag that Beckey put in our window on the first anniversary of the 9-11-01 terrorist attack. That rocking chair was my mother's. John brought Becky three thimbles, one of which was his Muhr-Muhr's(Mother's mother's). John also gave us a crystal nowball by Kosta Boda of Sweden. Larry Don Gillihan accompanied us at Western Sizzlin and gave us autographs. Larry Don wrote and sang Honey Bun. We drove on over to Turtlecreek Mall and visited with sister, Maxine Haun at her Merle Norman studio. I drove John and Carina back to Trumann. They will leave out for Chicago tomorrow. ... Have a great trip!!!!! O.Hinds

This photo of the Vaden Home and Bearden homes was taken from 216 Speedway, Trumann, AR. The Hinds home was on this empty lot. The Young's home was on the left. John Boija and Carina were visitors today with Oliver/Beckey Hinds.

The third stop was at the old home of Tobe/Lena Vaden. The children who grew up here were: Riley, Arlen, Betty, Georgia and Aaron Dean Vaden. Shirley H. lives here at 213 Speedway and was gracious enough to allow us to take photos of the Vaden Home.

One of the first stops for John B. and Carina was over to Marrianne, Stephen and Mark. Derrick is in Little Rock this week-end. I think all were mutually impressed. This was Carina first trip to the States whereas neither of them had visited Graceland. They both are from Taby(near Stockholm), Sweden. Taby is the size of Jonesboro roughly but Stockholm has 1.4 million.

9-11/12-8 with O.Hinds

  1. Beckey put an American Flag from the Jonesboro Sun the day after 9-11-1. It is still on our front (East) picture window! I worked a bit stacking the cut up logs from the two Pecan trees. At 6:45am I helped George Ford get ready for breakfast. Pauletter had visited an hour with him Sunday. The place was a buzz from Carmel L. smacking Ann (the resident Ann) on the forehead(11 stitches) with a cane. I left about 7:45 and made my rounds: THS first ( Mickey helped me with a pass I had misplaced), Sav-A-Lot, Post office, goatville and piggly-wiggly Oscarhut. I worked about the place for the day. Bobby talked me into keeping the chain-saw a few more days, since I do have a lot of wood on the ground.
  2. I really like the new parking that I have put in. I can work there without the grime and mud! I put down more 4x4s and 2x4s for framing going up to the Quonset Hut. Perhaps Jim S. will have some more concrete soon.
  3. Brook said the girls still have the 1/3 grown red squirrel that fell, nest and all, some 40 ft to the ground. It was so docile!
  4. D. Bradley was that Southwestern telephone worker that I tried to remember to F. Noblin.
  5. Talked with Jr. next door. Erma said the gas was going up. Beck and filled up our tanks at Wal-Mart ($96 for both).

9-12-8

1. Up early--helped George F. get ready for breakfast. I went over to the school and turned in the June 22,1948 Trumann Reporter (8 pages) by Arlen Vaden (editor) to be laminated. I also had several of Mel Brown's pages from his scrapbook permatized. I talked with Mickey McDaniel, John Troxel, Jetta Skillern, Joe W., Charles K., Brenda H., Justin Smith and several others.

2. I took the 88 Escort over to Bryan M. to have the oil changed($13.49 for the special of 5 qt. of oil and filter. The transmission is not right. I bought a quart for $3.39 and tax. It still dosn't shift right.

3. I went back to school and picked up my lamination. I met Zac Thompson, B.J. Carter, Quatrain ?, and a few other ball players... gave them the high sign for victory!

4.Picked up milke($3.94, sandwich bread($1.09), eggs($2.49 for 18 large).

5. Home and wrote in the blog... Beck has bad headache..... 6. John B. and C. are in Memphis ... will be in Trumann to met us manana..

"Oliver,we're now in Memphis, staying two nights at the Heartbreak Hotel so we'lldo the sightseeing here now and head off to Trummann on Saturday and thenstay until Sunday, focusing on you and Trumann. I hope that suits you andBecky. We're so much looking forward to seeing you both! All the best /John"

7. I thought this was a great email about "pig-catching:" "
How to catch a wild pig
There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day, while the class was in the lab the professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.
In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?' The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said it was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again, and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, so you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly, the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon, they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.'
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America . The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, free medical, $600 economic stimulus, etc. While we continually lose our freedoms - just a little at a time. One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.
Bravo to the young man! He explained it perfectly. If you see that all of this wonderful government help is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this e-mail, but God help you when the gate slams shut!
'A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.' -- Thomas Jefferson" ... Ballgame tonight against Nettleton! I met Coach Dover last Friday night when we crushed Rivercrest!..... O.Hinds

Sept.6-10,2008 with O.Hinds

  1. Fri... I joined Michael S. at the local football field and watched Trumann trounce Rivercrest like 34-14. Zac Thompson(Rosie's grandson) ran 4 touchdowns! Called Wayne(he couldn't believe that we were 20 points ahead in the 1st quarter) He had his great-grandson, Eli, in his arms. I went over and talked with Rogers Ford, Supt. over at RC. He used to be a Worldbooker. I chatted with Bo H., he still has one grandson playing ball. Derrick came up with me and left after about 20 minutes or so. Mark, my 12 year old grandson, came up and sat with me for a while. I am glad I made the effort....
  2. Sat... We found out that Aldean Pipes had passed away. I have visited her for about 7 years over at Skilcare. Lois McCarty Hill(Radie's wife and Ricky/Randy's mother) was her sister. Woodrow McCarty, her brother, was her brother. William Green's wife, Jeanne, was her sister(Curt, Shelby, Sherry & Kenny's mother). Junior McCarty is the only one of that family still living. He lives across from the old fire station on West(Pine) St. ..
  3. Sunday... Visited Viv at about 6:15am and then walked with her to breakfast at St. Elizabeth Place in Jonesboro(she is in room 109). We sang "Send the Light," "When we all get to Heaven," and "If I could hear my mother....." 7:10 at Skilcare. I spoke with Waymon and Eula Mae Perkins, Gertie Mills Skaggs (Aunt Em's granddaughter). Sept.6,2008 with O'Hinds

  1. 6:45 am. I checked email and found that Boija & company(That is his photo on the left.. I think he is 37 years old, slightly younger than my oldest child:

were leaving sunny Stockholm at about 5am,our time this morning. Typed him a note that goes to his cell phone. I imagine they will land on the east coast about 2pm or so today. Arrived at Plantation H., and wheeled George F. to the breakfast table. We both had egg,gravy/biscuits and coffee. Ann E. is our cook and a good one at that! Only two cars out this morning besides my '91 Nissan. After breakfast, we refilled our cups, sugar/cream for us both. Jay joined us and I left the two talking! I spoke and visited just briefly: Danny M., Cathy, Marie, Bettye H., Edith G., Melissa, Carmel L., Wayne, Etta, Jackie A and others...

  1. 7:45 Stopped in at McDonalds ..sat with Jimmy A. and Phil B. We talked a bit about the outstanding highschool football game that Jim and I had attended last night. Trumann's Zac Thompson romped for four touchdowns! I have known him and his family for some years.... 'Freezer(William)and Lindsay Thompson are Rosie's (now deceased) children and uncles to Zac. Trumann beat Rivercrest (close to Marion) 36-14 or so! I wore my #17 T-shirt and Paul S. waved me in. I have a lifetime pass at all Trumann Athletic games. Anyway I sat next to Michael S. (Beckey's brother). Derrick followed me up to the first seat under the announcers booth(I occupied said booth for some 13 years as the voice of the Wildcats). Anyway, I enjoyed my visit at McDonald's. Also spoke briefly with Shorty H.(94 year old councilman), John S.(WWII hero)and a few others.

  2. 8:04am ...Called Billy S. and then picked up produce. Went over to Marrianne/Derrick's and had coffee with them. Mark didn't feel like fishing today. A recalcitrant rentor (A.) came over (he had been over at 10:30 last night). Derrick handled things well. We had a good talk. I left them a watermelon and some produce. Went over to the Stouts, next door neighbors, and they were cleaning up from taking the dangerous tree down from near and over (Derrick's)their home. I talked with Danny W. yesterday and told him that I had a tree next door over my trailers that needed down. Went over to Bobby's (he had just bought a '51 Allis Chamber with a wide front end, bushhog and plough!). Derrick came over while I was feeding livestock and we both walked over to Bobby H. and I borrowed a chainsaw from him. Derrick/Bobby continued talking for a while. I cranked up the saw and quickly cut up the very large limbs that had come down from my self-pruning 78 year old Pecan trees... some 32 of them. Derrick has that many next door.
  3. Beckey called and told me that Ila Dean Pipes had passed away. She was a dear friend whom I had visited some 6 years at Skilcare on Browns Lane, Jonesboro. At Bay, I took a little nap and up at 1pm or so and visited Herbert/Kay S., Leslie (Zelna/Lester's daughter), Mary F. (renewed my offer of cuatro cientos para su viejo truck). She said I would be first in line to buy. I sat on the swing awhile and talked with Ronnie/Renee, Bobby, Anna/friend..
  4. Came in and ran the Net a while... I called Jessica and then I called Chris Hinds(my nephew)and he had Larry Don Gillihan a rather famous Rock/N/Roll writer, singer & player call me. He thinks that Jerry C.Riley (Flying Saucers Rock n Roll, and Red Hot)might be around if we let him know that Boija is visiting on a Wednesday. I gave Larry D. the website of Boija and he sent him a message ....
  5. Still working on the Net... had a jumbo dog and milk... Beck is always working on afghans/etc while she listens and /or watches TV.... have a great day readers.... O.Hinds

Sept1-5,2008 with O.Hinds

  1. Mon .. worked at the Grove
  2. *Dropped by and visited Louise H.H.F. She is a sister to Lonnie/Luther Holt. Aunt Josephine married Lonnie. Louise lives next door to Don/Vivian in Blalocks Apts... Decided to work in Trumann. Ate at Campbell Sr. Citizen Center... Bulldog, Odell, Henry P., Bob Sloan(kin to Turmans... Robert 1st cousin), Vera, Syble Ballard, Jim, Louella C. are a few who attend there. Gave George 30 -shaped in a dog-earred 20 and a double fold 10=670.
  3. Wed.Brought George F. 5 long-sleeved XL shirts. Beck and I drove to Jonestown and Focused to the tune of siete cientos. We are staying faithful to our economic plans! We ate at Western Sizzlin... really a good buffet!
  4. *Thurs. Got my animules fed and then went over to Plantation Home. Charlie the Spoon didn't show... but played and led singing for a group of a dozen or so! Edith Wilson Rhodes'family were visiting and we had a great time.. reminising! I never knew that Edith was the mother of Ricky/Nicky Rhodes! Told them the story of Nicky pointing like a dog on a class trip! We all laughed at that ! Worked on the '74 Ford truck and then on the '88 Escort. I got the manual on the Escort! Makes fixing them so much easier! It has been so rainy and the Pecan limbs are falling all over!!! George F. got his $30 from his check(that is all he gets from his SS check to spend!)in the form of 3 tens. He wants me to remember this for him. I know that I have to write it down!!
  5. Up and at Sav-A-Lot at 8:02 and then at the Pizza Place at 8:08am. Billy S. and I traded. Beckey called and wanted to go to Jonesboro to register to vote in Craighead County. I am registered in Poinsett and will probably always be. I try never to miss voting. I know that she is voting McCain/Palin. I am planning to get antique tags for the '74 Ford truck... Oh, I pulled a large Pecan limb that had demolished my greenhouse with the old Black Ford. I am glad I sprayed the bed Wed. before all this rain. Jimmy S. hired a man to cut a huge Pecan limb that was over his house(roofed double-wide). I walked over and the climber some 30 feet high spoke so clear...."Is that you, Mr. Hinds?" I recognized him even in his lofty perch and spoke briefly.... He said that he was a "nut up a tree!" I wished them luck not wanting to witness an accident so early in the day!!! Billy S. called and said he had passed all driving tests and would be on the road(trucking) next Tuesday. I have become quite attached to Billy/Alicia, Charity, Preston and Destiny since they hauled scrap metal for me some 3 months ago... O.Hinds ...
