Sept.6,2008 with O'Hinds

  1. 6:45 am. I checked email and found that Boija & company(That is his photo on the left.. I think he is 37 years old, slightly younger than my oldest child:

were leaving sunny Stockholm at about 5am,our time this morning. Typed him a note that goes to his cell phone. I imagine they will land on the east coast about 2pm or so today. Arrived at Plantation H., and wheeled George F. to the breakfast table. We both had egg,gravy/biscuits and coffee. Ann E. is our cook and a good one at that! Only two cars out this morning besides my '91 Nissan. After breakfast, we refilled our cups, sugar/cream for us both. Jay joined us and I left the two talking! I spoke and visited just briefly: Danny M., Cathy, Marie, Bettye H., Edith G., Melissa, Carmel L., Wayne, Etta, Jackie A and others...

  1. 7:45 Stopped in at McDonalds ..sat with Jimmy A. and Phil B. We talked a bit about the outstanding highschool football game that Jim and I had attended last night. Trumann's Zac Thompson romped for four touchdowns! I have known him and his family for some years.... 'Freezer(William)and Lindsay Thompson are Rosie's (now deceased) children and uncles to Zac. Trumann beat Rivercrest (close to Marion) 36-14 or so! I wore my #17 T-shirt and Paul S. waved me in. I have a lifetime pass at all Trumann Athletic games. Anyway I sat next to Michael S. (Beckey's brother). Derrick followed me up to the first seat under the announcers booth(I occupied said booth for some 13 years as the voice of the Wildcats). Anyway, I enjoyed my visit at McDonald's. Also spoke briefly with Shorty H.(94 year old councilman), John S.(WWII hero)and a few others.

  2. 8:04am ...Called Billy S. and then picked up produce. Went over to Marrianne/Derrick's and had coffee with them. Mark didn't feel like fishing today. A recalcitrant rentor (A.) came over (he had been over at 10:30 last night). Derrick handled things well. We had a good talk. I left them a watermelon and some produce. Went over to the Stouts, next door neighbors, and they were cleaning up from taking the dangerous tree down from near and over (Derrick's)their home. I talked with Danny W. yesterday and told him that I had a tree next door over my trailers that needed down. Went over to Bobby's (he had just bought a '51 Allis Chamber with a wide front end, bushhog and plough!). Derrick came over while I was feeding livestock and we both walked over to Bobby H. and I borrowed a chainsaw from him. Derrick/Bobby continued talking for a while. I cranked up the saw and quickly cut up the very large limbs that had come down from my self-pruning 78 year old Pecan trees... some 32 of them. Derrick has that many next door.
  3. Beckey called and told me that Ila Dean Pipes had passed away. She was a dear friend whom I had visited some 6 years at Skilcare on Browns Lane, Jonesboro. At Bay, I took a little nap and up at 1pm or so and visited Herbert/Kay S., Leslie (Zelna/Lester's daughter), Mary F. (renewed my offer of cuatro cientos para su viejo truck). She said I would be first in line to buy. I sat on the swing awhile and talked with Ronnie/Renee, Bobby, Anna/friend..
  4. Came in and ran the Net a while... I called Jessica and then I called Chris Hinds(my nephew)and he had Larry Don Gillihan a rather famous Rock/N/Roll writer, singer & player call me. He thinks that Jerry C.Riley (Flying Saucers Rock n Roll, and Red Hot)might be around if we let him know that Boija is visiting on a Wednesday. I gave Larry D. the website of Boija and he sent him a message ....
  5. Still working on the Net... had a jumbo dog and milk... Beck is always working on afghans/etc while she listens and /or watches TV.... have a great day readers.... O.Hinds
